who would be interested the a twice a month DnD 4ed game?

When: First and Third Sunday of the month.

Plot: Something is wrong with history. the PC's are recruited to fix it.
Each session should be fairly self contained with the over arching time war plot connecting the sessions. Modules will be form LFR so if you're a IPA member you can get official credit for the game.

Game would be run on Sundays at my house ( starting around 12, so people will show up before 2:00 :)

Awesome! What at-will, encounter or daily power did you use, Anna, to push/pull/slide so many players to this meetup? ;)

Was great to meet everyone and can't wait to start the game!

Great meeting you all and many thanks to Mr. Silverstorm and his household for hosting. Shout out to Anna for jumpstarting the whole shindig and props to my players for taking a chance and giving me the opportunity to run a game for you all. From what we've hammered out I think this is going to be awesome.

Amazing turnout. 14 players total. Had to split into two gaming groups. Met a lot of awesome people/players.

I forgot something and had to run back to my apartment. I live less than ten minutes away so I shouldn't be too late.

It's been awhile since I've played tabletop RPGs. I always skim through the latest RPG products at Barnes & Noble wishing I could game again. I've played all the editions and Pathfinder before except 4th Ed. Really excited to meet you all Sunday!

WOW up to 8 people. I'm flatted! I invite you all to show up, but if there is no room at the table we have plenty of card and board games. So come and hang out and play anyway.

If so, whom do I contact and where do I go?

With the number of people, is there a good suggestion or two for places to park?

    February 24, 2013

    • Silverstorm

Its street parking. there is a strip mall close by that my be your best bet to find parking if there is nothing close to the house.

Alright, so it seems like we have a pretty wide open variety to choose from for character creation. I'd like to try and make a party that makes sense to adventure together, so I'll endeavor to make my character fit/fill any roles we seem to be lacking.

I suggest that the newer players get first stab at determining their characters so they get to play what they think will be fun, then us veterans can round the party out with our character choices.

Also, do we want to consider using a Party Alignment? Basically choosing an alignment that the members of the party more or less revolves around (i.e. you can be up to one step more good/evil from that chosen alignment). Thus, if we choose Unaligned, then the party could have Good, Unaligned, and Evil as character alignments, no Lawful Good or Chaotic Evil in that case.

Finally, should we choose a group leader, someone who acts as the head of our group in negotiations, and who settles disputes within the party?

I agree about new players, but if some one JUST has to play a elf ranger I won't make too much of a fuss, unless 4 people want to play hobbit, we know how that game ends. talk about don't split the party. Party Alignment: I prefer a good to unlined party, but if someone wants to play evil I'll allow it. BUT I do not play with party kindness rules. IF you do something like steal from the fighter and she catches you and wants to kill your PC for it I wont' stop it. As far a leader goes, I like that to happen organically through play.

Ok people, I've set the date. So now I have to run it!
If you don't already have a level 1 4ed character, we can create at game or contact me. Some Snacks and Soda will be provided but more is always welcome.

I've not made a 4th ed character. But, I can probably figure it out. Is there a particular way you want stats generated?

      February 20, 2013

    • Silverstorm

I like to use the Character generator, that way I have a copy of the PC online. Any LFR legal race / class is allowed http://www.livingforg...

If anybody wants access to any of the documentation then I have a lot of the hard cover books.

    February 22, 2013

  • Adam

Well it seems there are at least 4 interested. Anyone up for DMing or know someone that would want to DM? I suppose we wouldn't necessarily have to play this plot or 4th ed then? And, I think the 24th would be good.

Maybe we should wait on character creation until Mr. Silverstorm gives us the go ahead. Personally, I find character creation as a group in D&D is fairly important for a good story experience as it helps dial in on a collection of characters that make sense to be working together out of the rather encyclopedic collection of fantasy genres that D&D has rules for but aren't necessarily designed with each other in mind.

It'll also help us with strategy if we have a more balanced group with a diverse skill set...

Ok guys I am going to be restarting this game soon. I'm sorry for the long delay but between the holidays and just general life it got away from me. I'd still like to run it every other Sunday, however I'm going to running it at my house due to problems with the game store. What weekends are good for people?

Weekends are good with me. Have you tried Game Kastle instead of Legends by chance?

Whoa, never noticed how old this suggested meeting was.

    February 15, 2013

    • Anna

I think its because I RSVP'd and it fulfilled the minimum few. But now that we have enough players, we should get a date started! If the originals are still around...

      February 15, 2013

    • Tyler H.

I'm an original! I'm around! I don't know what happened to the rest. :C

      February 15, 2013

  • Tyler H.

So I'm seeing new people posting in this meetup. I was part of the original group that started this and I think it fell apart. If we get a DM then we could probably start this up again. I have plenty of resources if anyone needs anything.

    February 15, 2013

I'd be interested, though I am not a big fan of 4th ed. I've been trying to get a game started or join a game for a while.

    February 15, 2013

  • John H.

    Got room for another?

    February 15, 2013

  • Anna

New also! If you don't mind the noobness. I've played WoD tabletop games with friends before, but never DnD so I'm curious.

    February 15, 2013

  • Silverstorm

Sure! always room for more players. The main game meetup list is over on" Bay Area Table Top RPG Network" and out first game is on the 19th
