Our group started to play tennis weekly at Yew Mei Green condo, which is located near to the Yew Tee MRT station on Saturday mornings, from 8am or 10am onwards. As long as weather permits and if the courts are available, we are usually on the courts early. We play either singles, 2-on-1, or doubles, depending on court availability and on how many show up. However, doubles is preferred, since we are getting on in years, and try not to run too much if possible.
Now we have branched out, and there are others who play regularly at the Farrer Park tennis courts. Meetup.com now allows any of its members to arrange their own meetups, so as long as 3 or more tennis players RSVP "Yes" to a suggested meetup, it gets posted to the calendar and the main page.
The goal is to play tennis and to have fun; enjoying the game and in hitting the ball. All are welcome, although we would prefer those players at least of an intermediate level in order to be consistent with the group and to keep up with the flow of the general game. As for myself, I have been playing tennis for more than 20 years, and am always on the lookout for new people to join our group in order to play the game.
