I have lived in Florida for almost 30 years. I enjoy meeting people and definitely not bashful.
I am from a rural community, Assumption, Illinois.
I raise labs and bulldogs, plus if I'm lucky I host single cruises 3 or 4 times a year. I use to be a mortgage loan assistant until the real estate market fell apart, so did my job.
I enjoy just hanging out near the beach (love the shade) just relaxing. I enjoy dancing, comedy clubs, outdoor concerts and travelling.
No kids or grandkids in my world, but many labs and bulldogs. They are like my kids.
Our age bracket have always known how to have a good time, we have started many trends. And at this age I hope I have finally figured things out
Yep. Where you are staying is just a few blocks so that is good. I think staying at the beach is much easier for the festival. You can get down there first and chill and then have the room to get dressed. Then you don't have to worry about the issuing of having to drive home (regardless if you drink or not). But I will find any excuse to stay at any beach.....LOL! I really think it will be a great event this year and this group has so many new people in it who have never gone. :)
That's great news! I just got done posting the event on our meetup group's website. I have family coming in for that weekend and will be staying at the Beacon which is on the beach from Thursday until Sunday morning. It is a great event.
Marillen - Beacon showed it was sold out last week online, but I called them directly and they had five rooms available (I booked 2 of them). My rate was $103.00 per night. A very good price. Lighthouse has some rooms and across the street from them is Sundeck (they had a few rooms also) - as of last week. I would google and get Beacon's number and call there first. You are right on the beach with pool & clean rooms, and next door to Cottage House................
I have booked two rooms at the Beacon (best place/location on the beach for the festival). Even though they show "sold out" on their web page, I called and they had several rooms available (at a discounted rate). I would call & see if they have any rooms left and if so, you really should book there. I've got family coming in from Ohio for the festival. Will be a GREAT TIME :)
Marillen - The Crazy Olive closed its doors a few months ago (bummer). I just went to a place called the Buddha (McGregor & College) - they have dart boards there (steel tipped only, I believe). If you ever sign up for meetup (or are headed that way & vice versa - I will be going more often now because I had such a great time this past Saturday), then let's plan to throw a few darts. Have an awesome week - hope everything is rolling your way :)
Marillen, I would like to meet you at Dock Ford's sunday apr. 25th after outriger for dancing. See you at Outriger Vito LIKE TO DANCE
welcome to the group
