November Book Club-Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

Marriage can be a real killer. One of the most critically acclaimed suspense writers of our time, New York Times bestseller Gillian Flynn, takes that statement to its darkest place in this unputdownable masterpiece about a marriage gone terribly, terribly wrong. As The Washington Post proclaimed, her work “draws you in and keeps you reading with the force of a pure but nasty addiction.” Gone Girl’s toxic mix of sharp-edged wit with deliciously chilling prose creates a nerve-fraying thriller that confounds you at every turn.

I am so interested in finding out why people like this story. I am plowing through it, trying to finish.

Sounds like because its a cleverly written suspense (murder?) mystery. I was surprised to learn the author is a woman. Doesn't seem to be about marriage because they were only married for a year (?)

Okay, after about 200 pages, I finally got more interested. That's a new record for me, most pages into a book before I got into it.

Get reading Sue! I have the CDs if you want to listen on your drive to work.

      November 13, 2013

    • Sue

Ha I just got the CDs too! 15 of them oh my! Will it put me to sleep on my drive? I hear sleeping and driving is not a good mix.

419 pages. Do I have to have read even a small chunk of that to attend? No need for spoiler alerts...
Y'all sound like good people to meet. Ben
You can check out a kindle? I am so behind the times!

There is no mandatory requirement to read any part of the book. Most likely you will find out the ending during our discussion and aren't allowed to complain!

      November 13, 2013

    • Sue

If that was a requirement I would have been kicked out long ago! I try to finish...but some I don't. I finish some after book club because of book club discussion! Perhaps a bit backwards... but enjoyable nonetheless.

I checked out a Kindle from the Waunakee library. The book is already loaded onto it. I think it is on all of Waunskees e-readers.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
