Winter Solstice Game Night (Family Friendly)

  • to
  • Cathy Pearson's house

7872 Wood Reed Drive, Madison, WI (map)

    43.036415 -89.521744

  • Let's ring in the official start to winter with some fun board games! I have Taboo and Scattergories for the adults, and Uno and Apples to Apples (kid version) for the kids. If you have games for either adults or kids, bring that along with your beverage of choice and a dish to pass (think appetizers). For SP-DA newbies, my house is a great fit for the mix-adults on the main floor, and kids on the lower floor. I'll have videos for the kids just in case, but for sure we'll have a blast playing games, and getting to know each other. Looking forward to seeing you! :)

I really hope the weather holds out until later at night. I would hate to cancel at the last minute if the snow comes early because I'll be coming from Watertown.

With the weather conditions and me living in Evansville I'm concerned about the commute. I'm sorry and saddened about missing this. Next time. :-(

This sounds like fun. I have tons of board games. It's nice to find people that like them too. I have pictionary, backgammon, Risk and others stored away. Let me know if you are interested in any others.

Secondly, if those on the waitlist could give me their cell phone # so I can contact you as spots open up, that would be great! Thanks again!

Just a couple of thoughts as the clock winds down...
#1 thanks for keeping RSVP's current. It's much appreciated! If people need to change their RSVP the day of the event, send me a message on Meetup, snd I'll let the next people on the waitlist knows.

Hi, I'm in :) . How do I change my RSVP to plus 1 (I'm bringing my daughter) I was thinking today while I was driving that I could bring my face painting kit and do that for the kids… IDK I guess I have to find it first, it has to be somewhere! What do you think? It is just a thought anyway…
On another topic, my daughter has food allergies to milk, eggs and all nuts, (she cannot eat or touch anything containing those allergens) I will bring something she can have but I thought I should share this information just for her safety. Thanks

Hello all! This is going to be such a blast-can't wait to see you!
Ivan-LOVE the idea of face painting! Nadia is just one kud among a group, LOL, but wow- what fun!
The more games the better-there will be 2 tables set up on the main floor, and downstairs is large enough to accommodate kids, games, etc. lets start posting what food we're bringing. Thanks again!

I could bring the full version of Apples to Apples or ROFL for the adults. I also have Ugg-Tect, but if the kids see the inflatable clubs, things might get out of hand fast.

I will bring a dessert (surprise). Ivan if it would help your daughter feel included, I could bring some cotton candy as well.

That would be nice, that is thoughtful of you. Thanks

This sounds really fun, but because of all of the recent discussion regarding the cancellation of RSVPs, I hesitate to sign up! I guess I will wait until closer to the time and take the chance that all the places will be taken.

I agree with Cathy. If u want 2 go, best 2 sign up now! Signing up now will prevent all the folks Laura et al spoke to from keeping u from this great party.

Thank you to Cathy and Donna for your comments, but aside from feeling less freedom to change plans after the recent discussions (which is too bad, because that is one of the things I actually love about Meetup, the ability to make last minute plans), there's at least a 50% chance that I wouldn't be able to make it to this event, so I'd better not RSVP yes. Plus, now I see there is a wait list. If I don't see you, have a great time!
