Game Night (Board Games)

I'm interested in organizing a series of game nights (board games). I have a number of games we can pick from (some of which are a lot of fun) but people can also bring their favorites that we can vote from. We can order a couple of pizzas. If you have a favorite beverage, bring it over. We'll start at six and go as late as people want to stay.

This is an adults only event. If you have your kids I can set them up with a movie, but I don't have my kids this weekend.

It was fun. Only half the people showed which worked out okay because it was pretty intimate. We only played one game but mainly because people were having a good time socializing. There are some new people and it's fun getting to know people and expanding the social base.

We didn't spend much time playing board games, instead we talked and listened a lot. Both as a large group and in small groups. It was a very nice way to spend a cold evening. (BTW: I'm Dana ... still going by my middle name on this list ... but that's a long story)

Todd, maybe you should start a separate "board & card games" meetup group? Just a thought.

Todd, I know exactly what you mean. I had a card party Friday night. People showed, did not want to play cards, checked us out, didn't meet his needs, split to go to another party because the cards did not work out because others needed to play had left. So, if know exactly what you mean. For me, I have been a part of a monthly games night that always works. People commit, look forward to it, and stay until midnight consistently. I can share what we do. I am in. Pick the date

Sounds great. It is always fun to gather with friends in a cozy, welcoming home on a Friday night or weekend night. thanks for sharing your home

Great idea....it is actually 2 ideas: the activity and the regularity of it. Recall that I hosted a "Game Night" in September. It was well attended but it turned into a "Card Night" as no one was into board games. ( I like Rummy Kubes and Jungle Speed). I am ready to host again because I just like to have a house full of people....whatever they are playing.

This is a great idea, but can't we just list the events on our calendar with a limit to the number of attendees and a wait list? I understand what you are saying, but iif these are intended as events for our group, they should be posted as such on our calendar.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
