July Book Club-When Heaven and Earth Changed Places by Le Ly Hayslip

When Heaven and Earth Changed Places is the haunting memoir of a girl on the verge of womanhood in a world turned upside down. The youngest of six children in a close-knit Buddhist family, Le Ly Hayslip was twelve years old when U.S. helicopters langed in Ky La, her tiny village in central Vietnam.

It was a lot of fun guys. We didn't talk about the book nearly as much as everything else. Thanks for hosting Sue!!

I won't be able to make it after all. Didn't finish the book , but was looking forward to seeing everyone. I've had a busy few days!

Difficult to obtain from the Library system, as there appear to be only 4 copies in Dane Co.

I just finished mine. If you want to get the copy I have this evening and read it over the weekend, let me know.

Sue, that would be great. With Beth and Sheila out, nobody would have a super long drive to get there.

I may not finish...but I should be able to come. If folks don't mind driving I am happy to host. Might be better than December weather..but it has been rather chilly :) Doesn't matter to me where we meet..just thought I would offer.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
