Optimistic Chris hosted Thanksgiving Dinner. What are you doing Christmas Eve? Let's get together for a Christmas Eve Dinner and Gift Exchange. Please bring a dish to pass and whatever you want to drink. Please also bring a wrapped gift under $5 - $10 to give to someone else. Bring your favorite board game and/or cards.  If we feel like it and it is not too cold, we can go caroling in my neighborhood. Please write to me with ideas about what you would like to do Christmas Eve. Here are the details: Saturday, December 24, 2011 at 6:30pm - ?. When you RSVP, please tell me the dish you plan to share.   Looking forward to spending our holidays together.  I will email all who respond.  Last year, we had over 25 people at my house on Thanksgiving.

Being that I have no family in Wisconsin, I am sure glad I signed up with this meet-up group in Oct of 2011. I finally decided then that I need to meet new people in the area. I have friends from work who I do things with at times, but I wanted to expand my evolving in this area. I had the most fun at this party on Christmas Eve than I've had in a long time. The people I met, who were new to me from this group, were so friendly and warm and had lots of food for me. Ooops! I mean food and deserts for us all. We also played a fun game and I just had so much fun altogether. I offered to pick up one of the group members who didn't want to drive to the event and I enjoyed her company at the party. I didn't drink much so as 2 get us home safely. So all in all, time well spent with a bunch of people that I've never met before and now will spend time at other events because of theml. Thank you Donna C., after finally finding the house, and everyone else who attended. Thanks food people to.

Hi Amy, The majority of the people coming tonight will be over 40. The age rage is 40 - 60 years old. Please call me or email me with your thoughts. I hope to see you tonight. Spice cake sounds great. However, would you mind preparing enough for at least 10 people. See you later.

Hi Ken, If not, these items, I can suggest some other easy things too. I have chocolates to share. If you would like to bring some spirits that sounds great. I am very happy that you will be joining us.

Hi Ken, I feel the same way. I am now very much looking forward to and excited about sharing Christmas with everyone who will be coming to my house. So thank you to you and all who are sharing Christmas Eve with me. Now, don't worry about not being a cook. We could use Cheese and crackers. Pita crackers with some type of flavoring and a cheese ball would be great and easy to bring if you would like to do so.

And I didn't have space to say it in my last post, but thank you for hosting this! I wasn't really looking forward to Christmas this year, and now I am.

    Hi Donna,

I'm not much of a cook--I could put together some sort of salad, though it might be kind of Plain Jane. (I do fine with fish, but sadly, that's not a Christmas food :-) ). I'd also be happy to hold up my end by bringing an assortment of spirits, or some nice chocolates, or some combination. You can leave a message on for me on the board here, or email me directly at [masked], or phone at 257-2850. (Somehow I'm not worried about stalkers or homicidal maniacs on this board :-)

Ran out of space..I have invited people outside our group so an email list would be great. I bought a 20lb turkey. We need vegetables, potatoes, bread, salads, dessert, hors dervs, snacks. We do have plenty of cookies. So far we have spice cake, cranberry sauce. Does anyone make a yummy sweet potatoe dish? It would be great if you brought your favorite Christmas dish to share with us. I am asking everyone to bring a beverage and wine, beer, and all spirits are welcome.
