Fall Camping at Yellowstone Lake State Park

Per request from meetup members (thank you for your input!), I have set up a fall camping meetup at Yellowstone Lake State Park.  This is a beautiful area with lake, swimminh, fishing, hiking, bluffs, etc.  It does have a boat landing.  There are multiple group campsites w/electricity, so we can expand easily if we need. There are usually pit toilets (or flush?) near the group sites. There is a bathroom with showers on the campground also, which you will most likely have to drive to if you want, but it is accessible.  It would be nice to enjoy the beautiful fall colors and sit around a campfire at night with a good group of people.  :)  Pack warm just in case.  It is better to have layers and then adjust as needed.  It could be warm in the day and cool off at night...but Sept is usually pretty beautiful....beauty and weather-wise.

This is a family friendly event and will be in conjunction with the Energizers.  My almost-10-year-old son will be camping with me.  He is a camping fanatic.  :)

On Saturday, let's pitch in for a group meal or potluck. I will also bring some extra for breakfast if anyone would like to join.  I can bring a dozen eggs and some pancake mix and syrup.   If anyone has wood they can bring, that would help.  We could also use a campstove...or more than one. I have a tripod and electric griddle.

Cost will be $10/person for the whole weekend.  You can be there as early as 3.

I photographed a wedding in Prairie Du Chein in May and was impressed with the rolling terrain of south western wisconsin!!

From what I understand, the Jimmy's is playing at New Glarus Oktoberfest from either 12-4 or 1-5 on Sunday (The Jimmy's has one time, Oktoberfest has another), which will be on the way back. Campers could stop on the return from Yellowstone to enjoy the event and music: http://swisstown.com/festivals/

    Sunday Setember 30th

    ■Antique Tractor Pull - 11am
    ■Music by Greg Boerner noon - 1pm
    ■Music by The Jimmy's 1pm - 5pm
■Big Cheese Fondue Pot serving free fondue starting at 2pm until it's gone

LeAnn: If you are camping alone, you are more than welcome to stay in the tent with Braden and me. As long as you don't mind my son. :)

My cousins, Jerry and Marsha Bredeson, run the Dairy Restaurant at Yellowstone Lake. I know you guys will have your own food, but if there's anything you need or crave a scoop of ice cream, they'll be happy to provide it for you. After Labor Day, they are open on weekends through the month of September. My dad's horse farm is only 4 miles from there too.

Per input from members, I changed the location to Yellowstone. Can't seem to change the description area, so will do so in a few days when i have my computer again. (Am on cell currently.) Location will be Yellowstone, group site #202.

I'm interested, but the group site doesn't work for me, I have a camper that I will be bringing, so I will make my own reservation once the location has been determined for sure. Yellowstone is one of my favorite camping locations :-) Thank you!
