iCal events - how to stop them?

Send an Email Post a Greeting
Hi,
It seems everytime I get an email about an event, I also get an iCal event notification that wants to automatically go into my calendar. So, each time I have to accept or reject it. I don't remember how I set this up, but right now I'd like to halt them from coming. I'd still like to get the emails (and this preference I located in my profile).

Any help would be very welcome. Thanks!
Robin

PS If it matters, and it's not obvious from my use of iCal, I am on a Mac.

I suspect it's a Mac thing and a setting in iCal as I never get the request for a normal computer (just kiddin'). I would look in iCal and see if there is a setting that says "capture all dates / events" as Apple is the king of auto capture.

When you log on and go under "Account", then Email and Notifications, there is a tab to uncheck for iCal settings. I just found this recently.
