We have been invited to do a Hard Hat tour of the brand new Bainbridge Island Museum of Art that is scheduled to open in June.
We will begin with a brief overview in the classroom and then tour the auditorium and new museum space - including what will be their archives, galleries, and meeting spaces. Then we will return to the classrooom for questions and they will share their progress.
Bainbridge Island Museum of Art is a new contemporary visual art museum. The art museum will serve a diverse population through exhibition and educational programs focused on the visual art and craft of our region and our time. For the past ten years, a goup of artists, community and business leaders, have shared the collective dream of creating a permanent home for local art that will serve as a community educations and cultural center. The vision is about to become a reality.
Parking during the day is tricky because of construction. There is guest parking available on Ravine Lane, behind the Kids Discovery Museum, and a few BIMA spots and handicap parking below the museum. There is also parking on Winslow Way. If people want to meet at my home in Poulsbo, I can take 4 with me.
We will probably be done before noon and I think we should have lunch somewhere on Bainbridge. I will not make reservations unless we have a large number of people that want to take advantage of this special opportunity to see the museum.
I have an in, one of my daughter-in-laws is the Development and Marketing Associate and Kitsap Outreach Coordinator.
#####NOTE: WE WILL CANCEL IF THERE ARE NOT AT LEAST 5 PEOPLE ATTENDING.
