Gong Bath Meditation IV

  • Aug 21, 2013 · 7:00 PM
  • Port Orchard Massage & Movement Studio

Take a few minutes to destress and re-energize your body through a Gong Bath meditation.

When you experience a Gong Bath, you can expect to recline or sit in comfort and do a few relaxation breath exercises. After several calming breaths, the gong playing begins. At first you hear soft throaty gong sounds and as you listen carefully, you become aware of the many tones within one sound. The sounds become louder and louder and wash over and around you, much as you would imagine the roar of a waterfall.  It's an amazing experience and, for some people, the gong helps draw out negativity and disharmony.

Occasionally, the sound of the gong produces what some listeners describe as tingling sensations or movement of the energy in the body. On the most basic level, the gong has a great balancing effect on the nervous system.

Yoga instructor Jyoti Simodi is our facilitator for this 31-minute meditation session.

The cost is $5 per person, payable in cash at the door.  Some mats will be available, but you can bring your own yoga mat and pillow if you want to recline.

I LOVE IT BUT ... This is the second time distractions in the room inhibited my ability to really absorb the pleasure of the experience.

I incorporated the noises around me into the whole experience. The only way to avoid distractions may be to have a private gong session. Just saying. It was so nice to see you again.

I enjoyed it....wish Port Orchard was not so far away! Kind of limits how many things I can do there.

Sorry to miss this as I'll be in Colorado. I went to the last one and found it incredible. I encourage you to jump on this opportunity.
