You made it through the Christmas festivities - why not take a break from un-decking the halls to join us on a scenic cruise to Seattle, followed by lunch at Marcela's Creole Cookery and the Seattle Underground Tour?
You can sleep in, because we'll take the 11:10 a.m. ferry out of Bremerton (Bainbridge folks, your ferry departs at 11:30 a.m.). We'll be walking to the Pioneer Square district where our first stop will be Marcela's Creole Cookery. Get your hot muffalettas or po-boys here, because it's the real deal! Rumor has it that Disney's Princess and the Frog character, Princess Tiana, was modeled after Marcela. You can see the menu and read more here:
After lunch, we'll head to the Underground Tour, where for $16 you'll be treated to history with a twist. In a leisurely, guided walking tour beneath Seattle's sidewalks and streets, you'll hear pioneer tales that will be creepy, weepy and a little on the seedy side.
We'll try to return on the 4:20 p.m. or 5:35 p.m. ferry.
IMPORTANT NOTES: Marcela's is a small restaurant and we will not have reservations, so please be patient. Also, there is a fair amount of walking on this event, so if you're mobility impaired, take this into consideration. Finally, icy weather will cancel this event; watch the site for updates.
