East Harbor Camping Trip

East Harbor State Park Camping Trip

July 5-7. 2013

1169 N. Buck Road (Rt 269)
Lakeside-Marblehead, OH

Who wants to go camping? East Harbor is one of Ohio most beautiful campgrounds. It has one of the best Lake Erie beaches. It’s also located close to Cedar Point, Marblehead, PIB & Kelly’s Island ferries, and a lot more. The campground is modern with shower houses and normal flush toilets. There is no electric on the sites that are available but the shower house have electricity. Dave has a large amount of camping gear including, tents, air mattresses, kayaks, grills, coolers, lanterns, ect that people can borrow. Dave is only planning the actual camping part, what people do (Cedar Point, Islands, ect.) is more based on group feel or individual preference.

We have 2 options as far as camping spots:

1)Get 2 normal spots that would sleep about 10 max (4 people in my pop up camper, and 3 tents with 2 in each). This is the cheaper option but we are maxed out at 10

2)We rent a group camp site which are huge and have a lot of room to ourselves. This type of spot will hold up to 50 people but is more expensive if I only get a few people go to.

I will see what the interest is and then see what option will be best. Price would vary on how many people go but I would cap it at no more than $20 a person for the weekend. If we get a good number going this could be cut in half.

Things to keep in mind:

1)Responsible Alcohol consumption is acceptable in the park just keep it in a cup and don’t draw attention to yourself. Park is patrolled by Rangers, Coast Guard, and Immigrations Agents

2)Absolutely, no drugs. We watched people get busted last time we were there.

3)Anyone know anyone with a boat up there? Lol

4)Friends and family are welcome. If you bring kids they are your responsibility.

5)Since this is the weekend after Independence Day there is a good chance of seeing fireworks.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
