Ultimate Halloween Costume Party (FINAL UPDATE MUST READ!)

What are you doing on Halloween? We're going to the ultimate costume party! It's the hottest costume party and Halloween ball in Cleveland. The Cleveland Museum of History, for the past 14 years, has turned the museum into a huge all-out party each Halloween night. The way it works is like this: A live band, a huge dancefloor, a gigantic costume party, a buffet, and several bars are installed in the middle of the museum for a long night of partying and dancing. This is a true costume ball and to make the event even better, is that the entire museum is open to roam around... IN THE DARK! Yes, holding a glass of wine in your hand and dancing in front of a dinosaur is entirely up to you AND PERMITTED! This is a 21+ only event and is highly revolved around dancing, drinking, and partying. This is not child's play, and I can assure you, if it's anything like last year, expect 500+ people. $30.00 tickets include admission, unlimited food and dessert, one free drink, and the opportunity to win in 4 separate costume contests. The bar will be open all night and all drinks (wine, liquor, or beer) are only $3.00. As a meetup event, we'll not only have a great time together but we'll most definately be partying it up with many others. I recommend buying tickets in advance, but you can always buy them at the door. The cost is worth it. If you live once and want to take a memory home this Halloween, do it in style. 20's and 30's did this event last year and had 81 people attend. Several of our members won the best costume at the event as well. The event was highly considered to be one of the best meetup's of 2009. Well, we're doing it again! Click here for pictures, recap, and info on last years fun time! Official event description: Join us for "Bones, Bugs and Dead Animals" and the best costume contest in Cleveland at the Nature League's 14th Annual Halloween Party. Enjoy live music from "Abby Normal," delicious food and dessert buffets and a free drink ticket with admission, $3 bar all night. Fabulous prizes for best costumes in 4 categories: Best of Show, Best Ensemble, Scariest and People's Choice Award. Ticket prices: $25 for Nature League members, $30 for nonmembers, and $35 at the door. "Bones, Bugs and Dead Animals" is open to those ages 21 and over. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Well, the Halloween costume party is almost here! I have some updates for the big event! Remember to purchase your tickets online to save $5.00. You can always buy them at the door if you don't get around to it. The event won't sell out, so last minute ticket buyers have no fears! The Halloween party begins at 8:00pm and runs until 12:00am inside the Museum of History. For those looking for some early partying and post-partying, I worked some stuff out for ya! Take a look below at the itinerary of events. Remember it's all optional so don't party yourself sick unless you are a natural party animal: ___Itinerary of events___ ***PARKING FOR UNIVERSITY CIRCLE is available on the street or in countless parking garages*** Parking on streets free on weekends, try Euclid, Juniper, Bellflower, Wade Oval, and East Blvd. for countless spots. OPTIONAL PRE-PARTY MEET from 6:00pm-8:00pm at The Jolly Scholar located at 11111 Euclid Ave. inside of Case Western's Thwing Center. We will once again be going to the Jolly Scholar as we did last year. This is inside the Case Western student center, a bit hidden away but it's an alive kicking joint!! It's pub-fare so they serve alcohol and have a full food menu. It's a new and not well known hangout. And best part is it's walking distance from the History Museum, so once you park, you don't have to move your car till midnight! MAIN EVENT --- 8:00pm-12:00am it's the Halloween costume party at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History!! Partying begins at 8:00pm, we'll be all over the joint, so if you can't find us, call/txt me (John) [masked] and I'll help you find your way. I'll hang out with a few others in the front of the museum from 7:45pm until 8:15pm to help new members find us. WE WILL BE IN A GROUP AT THE ENTRANCE, LOOK FOR A LARGE GROUP OF PEOPLE IN ONE BIG GROUP BY THE STAIRS GOING UPSTAIRS, THAT IS US! Besides myself, several of the group's organizers will be there, so look for familiar faces such as Greg Nielson, Rachel James, Dmitry, and all the others! Other regulars members will be there too to extend a loving arm to new members of the group who have not yet attended one of our events. There'll be 100's of people at this event! Because this party will have perhaps 500 or more people and because our group will have 50-80 people, it's going to be very difficult to know who's who or even keep our group organized in the least, which almost defeats the purpose of a meetup event. So since it is a meetup group, I'd love to keep the option of finding each other and having an area during the party where we can all meet and talk with each other. OPTIONAL POST-PARTY AFTER THE HALLOWEEN COCKTAIL BALL 12:00am-2:00am --- Once again we are heading over to the B-Side Lounge on Coventry in Cleveland Heights (a 5 minute drive from University Circle). This year it's the theme is THRILLER: Michael Jackson Zombie Dance Party, 21+, No Cover, $100 Cash Prize for best Zombie or MJ costume. Sign up now to get on board for the event of the year!!!!!!!!!!

We're all a little lackadaisical at the end of the first dance, so maybe that explains why the party ended there. The B-Side was a flop and so was the Jolly Scholar, but by damn, the costume ball itself was an A+ in all subjects! We had an amazing turnout from our group and I don't recall a minute of the night where we weren't all having fun. I wasn't the only one zonked at 12am, as I saw the eyes of Nielson roll backwards, the paint on Dmitry's face beginning to peel, and the filter-less butts of smokes getting flung across the courtyard. Unfortunately, we all went to B-Side to party with frat boys wearing construction helmets and 18 year old girls on XTC and high heels. Beyond that misery, this was a night not to be forgotten! See ya all next year, same place, same time!

Are people wearing their zombie costumes? I don't want to waste the costume I already have, but don't know I want to wear the same one twice when everyone's seen it already!
