We'll carpool from the Target parking lot and drive to Bandelier National Monument for a slow paced hike up Frijoles Canyon. Driving distance one way is about 100 miles, all on pavement. Hiking distance will be 6-10 miles depending on group and trail conditions. Elevation gain somewhere around 500 feet. NO DOGS OR WHINERS! Friends, lovers, past friends, past lovers, conservatives, low lifes, and guests are welcome. I would rate this hike as Easy to Moderate. My goal would be to reach what is known as the Upper Crossing and return. You will need to bring plenty of water, some snacks, camera, attitude (good only), and whatever else you think you might need. Any good hiking shoe or boot will suffice as the trail is normally pretty good. We will be walking right past the Sacred Kiva but will not stop to view it until on the return trip. If you have something else planned that night, then don't go on this hike! This will be a rather long day due to the driving distance.
