hi Johanna, I started this year too. I've been taking lessons at the Mountain Creek. 17th day skiing! i love it. You have desire to learn that is all you need. I wanted to learn so it really didn't matter being alone. Remember when you first started to walk you did all by yourself!

I go to Thunder Ridge in Patterson NY which is 20 min from danbury. While it isn't glamorous, If fresh snow has fallen, It's $20 weekdays & $25 for twilight (? 3:30-9pm)
Reasonably priced rentals and lessons are available .

Welcome to WSR, Johanna! You should join us on our Vermont trip to Mount Snow next weekend! They have a top-rated ski school if you want lessons! And there'll be a few beginners with us as well!
