DON'T MISS BLUES at the Mineshaft Amphitheater with NMJW!  Let's go to the historic town of Madrid for an afternoon of BLUES with some of Northern New Mexico's favorite blues musicians! Remember the good old days, and create some new memories! See old friends, make some new ones!

The summer's wonderful monsoon rains should be over, the temperatures should be more breathable, and fall is on it's way. What better way to celebrate this wonderful time of year than with a fabulous Blues Fest at the Mineshaft. Music is from 2 - 6 pm.

We are meeting early to give us plenty of time for the drive up. There are several restaurants in town for lunch or you can just look around this great throwback to the 70's hippie town

Tickets can be purchased on line for $20 General Public and $15 NMJW Members, Seniors, & Students. A discount is being offered to NM Blues Society Members. Purchase tickets at http://www.nmjazz.org/

Carpool gas cost is $9 per person round trip. You will be expected to pay your driver for their hospitality.

Here is the lineup of musicians and vocalists: Recognize any of your favorites????

Guitars:Todd Tijerina, Scott Mitchell, Darin Goldston, Rudy Boy, Bob Bolz, Bill Writt, Dave Paul, Mark Gonzalez, Jake Jones, Jay Rodecap, Tijo Dighilev

Horns:John Truitt, James Roy

Drums:Mark McKenna, Alfred Alaniz, Kent Pitzenbarger, John Edwards, Arnoldo Acosta, Melvin Crisp

I'm wondering who else might show up!

Well Okay, for those of us of us who stayed until the end, we have quite a story to tell. We won't soon forget this Meetup! The torrential rains, the flooding town of Madrid, the shots of Tequila in the MineShaft! What a day, great music with great people. Joanie Cere did a fantastic job putting this together. We are so lucky to have such good musicians in this area and they gave us a great show. I how we can do this again next year. Thank you Bob or Mary Anne for buying me that shot of Tequila. I needed it! Above all, Thank you members for coming out and supporting these very fine musicians. Great group today.

Not 100% sure I'm going now...with the massive amounts of rain predicted, it may not be too fun to be trying to dodge the flooding...have to RSVP for sure tomorrow am.

I plan to leave from the Blues Fest by 4:00, and can take up to 3 others. If you want to come back that early, and want a ride, let me know.

Are we allowed to take food & drink like the old days?

    September 9, 2013

    • Carol

Not sure about that. The location is the Mine Shaft Amphitheater which is off the Mine Shaft. I was there last year and people had small coolers. There is a beverage tent set up although I don't know how many of our group will be drinking since we have to drive back.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
