Mountainfilm: Telluride Film Festival on Tour

  • Mar 1, 2014 · 6:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Every year, selected outdoor themed films, documentaries mainly, from the Telluride Film Festival are taken on tour prior to the actual festival in Colorado. The tour will be screening films at Patterson Hall at Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts on Saturday March 1st.

I have been to this screening at Hampshire before and it tends to be pretty popular. Tickets cost $10.00 and include one raffle ticket. Additional raffle tickets can also be purchased. The raffle is held midway through the screening, during intermission. Prizes tend to be things like area gift certificates, fleeces, water bottles and other like paraphernalia.

Owing to the popularity of this event, I am going to limit this meetup to 12 in terms of attendance. I want everyone to find a seat in the venue, although we may not be able to sit together entirely. After 12, I'll start a waiting list. I have contacted the mountain film website to ask about the possibility of purchasing tickets in advance. I have yet to hear back from them on this, but will keep everyone posted when I do.

In the meantime, to learn more about the Telluride Film Festival in general, you can go to http://www.mountainfilm.org/. To find out specifically about the tour's stop in Amherst, visit http://www.mountainfilm.org/tour/stop/mountainfilm-on-tour-amherst-ma.

I hope this information is comprehensive and helpful. Feel free though between now and March 1st to send me any pertinent questions and/or comments.

Thanks,

Jon W.

I may be running a little late, as I am working this afternoon, but will be there. Where to look for you?

Should we meet at 6:00 in order to find a seat together? Will we be able to buy tickets at the door?

Whoops hit enter by mistake. Yes 6:00 is a good call to meet. I am calling Hampshire College today to find out if we can by tickets in advance. By the way, do you know how to start a waitlist? Is it a formal thing on the computer or just something one announces. I am asking because I capped this meetup at 12 for practical reasons.

I fixed it for you. There is a cap of 12 and the wait list has been turned on. Look under Edit/RSVP settings.
