Come out to one of the largest dog shows in the country! Along with AKC breed judging and obedience, there will be agility, flyball, Frisbee dogs and dancing dogs. Does your household need more fur? Many of the local rescue groups will be there. If you want to volunteer with your dog, people will be there with info on getting trained and certified as a therapy dog team and how to volunteer! There will also be clinics on dog health and training as well as opportunities to “Meet the Breed".
Bring your wallet so you can take advantage of once a year pet shopping opportunities.
Visit the show website for more info: http://reliantdogshows.com/
There will also be free “try me” rings for some of the performance events with instructors available to help you and your dog attempt a couple of exercises.
Single day Adult Admission is $10, Parking is $10 (both are Cash Only onsite) Watch Groupon and Living Social for reduced price admission tickets. Park directly in front of Reliant Center to be closest to the show.
Thinking about bringing your dog? Here’s a note from the show website: http://reliantdogshows.com/visitors/f-a-q
If you bring your dog:
- Make sure your dog’s vaccinations are current. Show dogs will bring germs from all over the country.
- Flexible (retractable) leads are not allowed.
- Community water bowls will not be provided. Bring a cup or portable bowl for your furry friend.
- Dogs can burn their paw pads walking on the asphalt parking lot. Consider carrying your dog from the car to the building or fitting them with “booties” if it's extremely hot that day.
WHERE TO MEET
This is a large venue, and it may be difficult to arrive exactly on time due to traffic, parking, getting in, etc. Let's plan on meeting next to the Agility Rings - that will provide entertainment while waiting for folks to arrive. The agility rings should be set up side by side with a walkway or buffer zone between them. The entrance/exit to each ring should be on one side, with chairs or bleachers for the audience on the opposite side. Let's meet next to Agility Ring 1A close to the walkway. I will be holding a MeetUp sign or you can look for me or Molly (my fluffy pup!).
NOTE: I am competing mid-afternoon, but may need to step away from the Meetup group earlier if the event runs ahead of schedule.
