agriculture: bees & honey (intro)

What we are doing:
Come along and enjoy a talk by Mr. Matt Pettengell all about his love of hives [not the itchy type...], honey, being stung and all things Buzzy…

This is the first part of a series of ‘Making events’ that will eventually culminate in us all building all the pieces to make our very own collaborative owned hive.

Part 1: The Talk (this event)

Part 2 -6: We build a hive (next steps)

Part 7 and beyond: We learn how to get our honey and run a hive.

We have the plans, and have access to a centrifuge. We have bees, we have Matt! We will have some Wine/Mead on the night and we’ll hopefully be eating some honeycomb which was made by Matt’s very own Bees.

Good to see so much enthusiasm for all things bees. Looking forward to producing some city honey.
Also hope to work on the idea of an observation hive as an aid to supporting bees and beekeeping.

When are you running classes for Part 2-7? Have you set dates and times? If so, please let me know.

Hi Mitsuo, we do not have specific dates as yet, we were planning to gauge how many people would like to build the hive once we introduce the project on Wednesday. Workshops are planned to take place on Saturday mornings. See you on Wednesday,

Query on this if for some reason you can not make this first meeting does that mean you can't do the hive ongoing?
