health & wellbeing: creating balance through mindfulness #1

what we are doing

In the busyness of everyday lives, it is easy to get caught up and over taken with all that is going on. These classes aim to teach practices of mindfulness and awareness that can be easily incorporated into daily life. The classes will also use personal reflection tools to increase self awareness to assist in creating balance.

what you will learn

In a relaxed environment, the classes will be taught through group discussion, personal reflection and practical exercises you will learn:

  • What is mindfulness?
  • The benefits of mindfulness practice
  • Simple mindfulness practices
  • Holistic life frameworks for self reflection
  • Value based self analysis exercise
  • Exercises to connect the body with breath and movement and other tools to connect to the present.

The classes will be held over two weeks, you are welcome to come to one or both of the classes. You can rsvp for the second class here.

Heidi Vial is a qualified yoga teacher and social worker from Melbourne. She has found mindfulness practice essential when working in the stressful and challenging environments of social work.

If you RSVP for a class and fail to show up, you will get a "no show". Three no shows means you will be removed from chalkle. You may request to rejoin after six months.

If you cancel your RSVP:

- less than 3 days before = no refund
- after 7pm night before = no refund and a no show will be recorded.
