what we are doing

This workshop series is designed to give participants the skills needed to turn good ideas into action, in order to strengthen and grow the social entrepreneurship community in Wellington. Ten workshops facilitated by highly experienced entrepreneurs and experts in a variety of fields will provide participants with actionable advice, transferable skills and inspiration to develop their visions for community-focused business. Covering everything from testing and pitching ideas through to legal and marketing, this innovative and interactive series will have something of value for anyone interested in starting a business, whether social or otherwise.

Social entrepreneurship uses entrepreneurial principles to organise, create, and manage a venture in order to achieve a desired social change, solve a social problem or strengthen community.

3. Building a Framework - business plans with flexibility 26 March - this class
Run a lean canvas to create business plans structured to a product or service and quickly find a market fit. Deep understanding allows for flexibility in plans as well as identifying and analysing new opportunities as they arise.

Michael Elwood-Smith 
An experienced strategist and entrepreneur with electronics engineering degree from Canterbury; Michael’s career in ICT in NZ, UK and Switzerland, and work at Creative HQ with many successful entrepreneurs provides a rich background to help people working in startups and high-growth companies. Michael is a practitioner of ‘lean startup’ and ‘business model canvas’, and continues to explore new ventures with great people.

our cancellation policy
If you RSVP for a class and fail to show up, you will get a "no show". Three no shows means you will be removed from chalkle°. You may request to rejoin after six months.
If you cancel your RSVP:
- less than 3 days before = no refund
- after 7pm the night before = no refund and a "no show" will be recorded

    Hi, could you please give me some directions how to find the place? I know where Forresters Lane is, but have no idea where number 2 is.

      If you just head down Forrester lane, the Sustainability Trust is on your right at the end of the drive, you can't really miss it. It has big glass windows all down the right side of the car park area.
