what we are doing

Through working with our voices in different ways, we can reclaim the ability to communicate effectively, find our ""true voice"" - the one that feels most like our own - and reclaim our physical presence and personal space. This workshop will be particularly targeted at people who have experienced trauma, be it physical or emotional, or those of you who are nervous of using your voice in every-day life.

It will involve some singing. Please don't be scared off by this!
I am happy to answer any questions people have or respond to any questions - leave a comment below

what you will learn

You will use basic singing technical exercises to explore our voices in a safe space. The focus on breathing and centring the voice will help connect the group to their own bodies. You will learn about projection and different pitches and vocal tones. You will also learn how to protect your voice and how to look after it.

Your voice is your communication to the outside world, it is an important tool and can often be the last thing people think about when working through trauma. The development of strong vocal technique and ability to play with your voice can help rebuild self-confidence and strength.

I have seen first-hand the immensely positive effect that vocal work can have on people.

Please note: This is not a therapy session, I am not a music therapist nor a speech & language therapist; this should be seen as complementary to any treatment you are (or have been) receiving.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
