what we are doing
This class will help you to unlock the power of the Wordpress content management system (self-hosted .org version, not www.wordpress.com). Learn how to super-charge your web powers with Wordpress plugins, and become more familiar with Wordpress settings. Each student will have their own 'sandbox' site to play around with, and will be able to access this site for a further four weeks after class.

- Scheduling posts
- Plugins - what can you do?
- 'Must-have' plugins
- Using a child theme to edit your css

Raquel Moss runs a local social media and web design business. She uses Wordpress with her clients every day. A huge part of that is training her clients to manage their own websites.

what to bring
Please let us know at least two days before the chalkle class if you don't have a laptop to bring along. We have access to a very small number of laptop for chalklers to borrow if required, but if you do have your own, please do bring it along.
You can let us know if you don't have access to a laptop by answering the question that will come up once you RSVP.
Knowledge you will need:
- A general familiarity with Wordpress (self-hosted .org version, not Wordpress.com)
- Ability to confidently navigate the Wordpress dashboard
- Know how to install and change a theme
- Know how to create a post and a page
- Know how to use tags and categories
- Knowledge of basic HTML and CSS would be handy, but not crucial
If you attended the Wordpress for Beginners class (and practiced after class!), that's a bonus, but not a prerequisite.

Chalkle° enables learning for communities in real life. Small affordable classes mean high value for participants, extracting the knowledge and skills otherwise hidden within the community. chalkle° redefines what it means to be a teacher or a learner, helping everyone undertake training in practical, artistic or academic skills while fostering lifelong learning.
Chalkle° expects pre-payment for all classes. If you have not paid you will be placed on the waiting list to allow other chalklers to attend. You will be moved to attending once chalkle° has received confirmation of your payment.
If you RSVP for a class and fail to show up, you will get a "no show". Three no shows means you will be removed from chalkle°. You may request to rejoin after six months.
If you cancel your RSVP:
- less than 3 days before = no refund
- after 7pm the night before = no refund and a "no show" will be recorded
