Re: [lampsoftware-8] Value of the Zend Certified Engineer program

I am planning on taking it within the next few weeks. Given what I have seen of the sample tests and the PHP Arch Certification Guide, I would suspect that you will need to know your stuff for the most part. I think that few people will be able to just walk in a pass it by chance.

Does that mean that the ZCE is a PHP Guru? No. It means they knew enough to pass the exam. But that still means something. At least in my opinion.

So, I took the version 4 test almost 3 years ago (can't believe it has
been that long).  Here is my blog about it:

Also, I ran a study group for the PHP 5 exam while president of LIPHP.
I never actually took the exam, but others in the class did.

In short, it isn't some MS test where you can just memorize things.
You have to have used it (meaning, the technology, whatever it is they
are asking about), at *least* in practice.  So, I would consider
someone who took it to be of at least intermediate level, or very
intelligent and a quick study.

That's my 2 cents.
