Announcing a new meeting for The NYC Social Justice Movie & Dinner Meetup!

What: FILM SCREENING & PANEL DISCUSSION on Rapes in Congo at The New School

When: Saturday, April 12, 5:30 PM

Where: Click the link below to find out!

Why: I thought some of you might find it easier to attend an event on a Saturday. Those who are interested and have time can join us for a vegan bite to eat and discussion afterwards.

Meeting Description: The United Nations Department of Public Information, HBO, and The New School present documentaries addressing the global issue of gender-based violence.

Screenings begin with shorts produced by UNTV followed by the featured film, The Greatest Silence: Rape in the Congo. The atest work by Emmy Award winner Lisa F. Jackson looks at the decade-old epidemic of kidnapping, rape and torture of women and girls in the civil war-torn Democratic Republic of Congo.

A Q&A session with the filmmaker and representatives from the United Nations and The New School concludes the evening. The film?s educational distributor is Women Make Movies.
