Ethics in Action: Clean Transitional Housing Apartments

There are few resources for victims of domestic violence in St Louis, and the resources that do exist are often overwhelmed with need. Here's where we can help - by cleaning out apartments, we can reduce the wait time between occupants.

We will be meeting in the rear of the parking lot of the Ethical Society and then carpooling to the service location. Don't be late! We'd hate to have to leave without you. (Actual time spent on location is 9am - 12 noon.)

Volunteer Requirements:

  • Signed confidentiality agreements for all participants (to be provided)
  • Work Gloves and/or latex gloves for cleaning
  • Closed-toed shoes
  • Weather and/or work appropriate clothing
  • Re-useable water bottles
  • Any donation of cleaning products and/or cleaning materials is greatly appreciated

Refrain from wearing group t-shirts, or other clothing items identifying who you are while working.  Depending on projects and weather, we might be working outside on grounds.  Identifying clothing may attract attention by passersby, impacting the safety of the residents. No photography.

Please only RSVP with one group so I can get an accurate head count. Feel free to message me with any questions. Safety First! And have fun. :)

Ethics in Action is a volunteer brigade of the St Louis Coalition of Reason.

Can't wait to see you all tomorrow! This is such an area of need in our community. The drive to the location takes about 20 minutes, so we'll have time for a group photo in the parking lot before we leave. Feel free to bring a friend. ;)

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
