SASHA Con

I'm adding this to our Events page for those who are interested in attending. Looks like registration is a minimum of $10 and they are looking for sponsors. The list of speakers looks really good. It's the same weekend as the Spring Peepers Hike. Haven't decided if I'm going to this event or the hike (wish I could do both!). Anyway, for more information, check out their website: http://sashacon.com/speakers/

SashaCon is a new secular conference in the college town of Columbia, Mo. and is intended to help all people in the Midwest, especially students, to get involved in secular activism and learn from our phenomenal speakers.

The idea for SashaCon began in the summer of 2013, when the officers of MU SASHA (Skeptics, Atheists, Secular Humanists & Agnostics) gathered together to plan a free conference for nonreligious people to meet others in the community and meet the activists who have come before them. Through the hard work of a few college students, we have created the type of conference that we, as students, would want to go to. We are proud to hold the conference on the beautiful MU campus.

MU SASHA planned SashaCon with the help of the Kansas City Atheist Coalition and the Secular Student Alliance at University of Central Missouri, two of the best secular groups in the Show-Me State.

I'm going to bail. I'm not really interested in secular activism. But, I am interested in the promotion of rational reasoning and effective decision-making.

You can go to their website sashacon.com. It is free but they encourage a $10 donation.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
