What is your 'pet' Skeptical Subject?

Why the universe went to the trouble of existing in the first place, what it might be "selecting" for and what possible role we play in the scheme of things.

How did you trip across the Vancouver Skeptics?

Through the weekly Vancouver Meetup Calendar

What age did you become a Skeptic?

Are you a Skeptic, or just Skeptic-curious?

Hi I'm a retired electrical engineer. I very much enjoyed the last discussion, I look forward to this one.

What John M. is saying about this Meetup Group

I am not sure it was a good idea for skeptics and humanists to forge an alliance. CFI seems to have embraced a lot of their causes célèbres such as the death penalty for homosexuality in Uganda - no doubt a worthy cause but nothing really to do with the core philosophy of our movement. Meanwhile the humanists have not openly endorsed many of CFI's projects. Increasing our membership by amalgamation has its drawbacks; if we are not careful we may get encrusted with too many "barnacles". I think some humanists have been less respectful of others when it comes to the give and take of lively discussions at cafe inquiries and freethinker bookclub sessions.
