Drinking Skeptically

Drinking Skeptically is an informal monthly social gathering for skeptics. 1739 Public House -- yum! At least 30 beers on tap and all variety of other goodness... fish and chips and all sorts of reasonably priced grub... And remember, the earlier the better both in terms of less bar noise and happy hour pizza (happy hour ends at 7PM)! You can feel free to drop in and out at any time. We tend to stay there until at least 10PM. And this is a public bar, so somewhere in the place there should be room for all, even if you don't RSVP. If you want to be a 'maybe', just RSVP 'no' with a 'maybe' comment. I won't be able to guarantee us our own private half of the place or anything, but we can make it work. The more, the merrier, after all! Drinking Skeptically it provides an opportunity for skeptics to talk, hang out, share ideas (and yes, drink) in a casual, relaxed atmosphere with like-minded people. We discuss the issues of the day and topics related to science and skepticism. But most of all, we have fun while promoting skepticism, science, and rationality. Non-drinkers are certainly welcome as well. And as you might expect, drinkers are strongly encouraged to drink responsibly. Center for Inquiry-Los Angeles is co-sponsor of the Los Angeles chapter of Drinking Skeptically.

I should have mingled a bit. Sat at our booth the whole night but still met some great people. Name tags would be a good thing for me as I can never ever remember names.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
