TV's Marco Regil to Tell How Veganism Changed His Life at Wednesday's Cafe Inquiry
Doors open at 7:30, program begins at 8:00.
Mexican TV personality Marco Regil, who hosts Mexican versions of Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?, The Price is Right, and Beyond Boundaries, will talk about how he discovered his own Fountain of Youth - a healthy lifestyle - through learning yoga and becoming a vegan. In addition, a local bakery will provide free samples of vegan desserts.
Regil will share his insights into the vegan lifestyle at the Cafe. "The results are amazing," he comments on his Web site. "I not only lost 25 pounds but I have a different energy. I'm less irritable, my brain feels clear and I feel and look younger! Not only am I healthier, the way I east is less stressful on the environment and not cruel to animals. It's a win-win-win!"
With all the diets and controversies of what foods are good for Americans to eat, the Center for Inquiry-LA will narrow the scope and talk about the definition, tenets and value of veganism in contrast to other ways of eating. There also has been a bit of controversy involving how to communicate veganism to children and whether consumption of animals products is cruel or simply part of the evolutionary food chain. Regil will discuss the nature of veganism today and answer questions of the audience as they sample vegan treats.
Regil, who lives in Los Angeles, was born in Tijuana and began his career as a radio D.J. He has garnered many awards and hosted a Cinco de Mayo celebration in the White House. For the Mexico National Telethon, he has helped raise more than $500 million. He was the voice of Brad Pitt in the Mexican release of Megamind.
