  • CFI-LA

Bring a snack and join other readers on the second Wednesday of every month at 7 PM for CFI-West's Book Club for Skeptics. Visitors welcome! Heck, you don't even have to have read the book to join in the conversation!

November's selection: THE DRUNKARD'S WALK by Leonard Mlodinow

We should be in the upstairs meeting room, but if not, there will be a sign when you come in the door from the parking lot to guide you.

For more information about the Book Club, feel free to email me!

talk on Fora TV: Can Control Affect How Long You Live?
    03 min 31 sec
Best-selling author and physicist Leonard Mlodinow discusses past studies on the illusion of control in one's environment. Mlodinow presents studies that support the idea that "the need for control is subtle and it’s much deeper than your conscious thought processes."

I have some issues with this book, but I'm glad I read it. If you're having trouble getting into it or you don't have time to read the whole book, I recommend reading chapter 9.
