Drinking Skeptically

Drinking Skeptically is an informal monthly social gathering for skeptics. Apologies to anyone who might find this objectionable, but this event will be rather different than usual (blame my mercenary desires combined with school and being out of town too much for work so my ability to research locations has been limited!). We will be getting together to watch the Presidential debate at the SFV Democratic HQ, where there is a viewing party. Hopefully, they'll let us BYOB. If not, we'll go find someplace nearby after the debate to have a drink! Check this space later in the week to see if we think we can pop our own corks there! Debate is at 6PM. For their benefit, please RSVP at their website or the event notification on Facebook (links below) if you think you'll attend. http://www.dpsfv.com/... http://www.new.facebo... Next month will be on the normal date and time at Ernie's in the Valley, as we are still blocked from the CFI-LA parking lot. But back to the Dresden come November!

I had a good time watching the Presidential debate, but then again I didn't meet anybody from the Meetup Group.

Sherri is correct. Everyone is welcome and nobody will check credentials of any kind at the door... it's just that if you're a McCain Republican, you might find yourself very uncomfortable at this gathering. I never got a reply whether BYOB is OK, but Sherri has a reasonable suggestion if the booze part is disallowed. BTW, the office opens at 3pm on Fridays, so feel free to come by before 6pm to schmooze or check out the buttons and t-shirts.... or even sign up to do some volunteer work.

I just don't normally put forth anything straight-forwardly political for this particular group. :-) I'm sure as long as we're all on good behavior, we are all welcome!

I don't know who would find that objectionable. I think it's a good idea. One questions, does one have to be a democrat to attend this MeetUp? (since the MeetUp group is not specifically for democrats, but the location should be open to every member, right?)
