"Evolution: It's Just Genetics Over Time." Part 1 by Mindy L. Walker Ph.D.

This will be the first in a series of talks discussing the evidence of evolution. The first installment introduces some of the copious genetic evidence, and future talks will discuss everything from “group selection” to sexual selection.

Mindy is trained as an evolutionary geneticist/systematist.

Afterward we will go across the street to the Blue Moose for drinks.

43 showed up. Thanks Mindy! It was a great presentation. I now have new ways of discussing evolution with people who have other views on it or are on the fence. I look forward to next week.

Very informative and well-presented. Any chance we could get a few of the slides in pdf format? Maybe the wheel with circles showing vestigial remnants of ancestral characteristics and the "5 thingamajigs" (thanks to Tim, that phrase is stuck in my head).
