How have most of the people you know come to find their place in the American political spectrum?  This being the political season, our short discussion topic tonight will be:

How do your morals impact your political party affiliation?

Why are people drawn to one political party or the other?  Are there psychological predispositions?
Which of the great moral foundations does each party emphasize or de-emphasize between care/harm, fairness/cheating, and liberty/oppression?
How has the Republican Party changed in the last two decades?

Should be a fun, enlightening discussion to compliment the other book/article discussions.

For the nosy person who doesn’t have time to read it all but wants to know it all.

Bring whatever you've been reading, and come to discuss that and what everyone else is reading. Subjects can include just about anything from the above list: fiction or non-fiction. Books or blogs or articles. Come to talk or come to listen. No pressure, just friendly fun.
See you there.

We'll give anyone who wants 3-5 minutes to explain what they've been reading, and another 3-5 minutes for everyone to ask questions and discuss. We always learn a ton. Come make new friends and learn something new about what they’ve been reading. It's the ultimate information exchange.
We'll start out with a 10- or 15-minute topical discussion (no more than that!).
Enjoy an evening with old friends, and make some new ones.

Come at 6:45 p.m. to get a good seat, to get to know folks, and to enjoy some coffee/dessert/dinner.
