And this, in answer to Don D's question, is one of the biggest reasons why (I think) atheists are so fascinated with religion. Superstitious types must be hyper-vigilant to ensure they do not 1.) "offend the god(s)" or 2.) fall prey to demons, i.e. "the other." When you have large numbers of superstitious people banded together, it's prudent to keep a watchful eye. "Antichrist" is a loaded symbol. When the Old Believers in Russia began throwing around the term "Antichrist" in reference to the reformed Orthodox, the Russian government promptly ran the Old Believers out of town (Iggy, correct me if I'm wrong). Here, we won't do that. Instead, we tolerate the nonsense in the spirit of democracy, diversity, tolerance for all beliefs, etc. That doesn't mean we need to throw caution to the winds and
common sense out the window.
