KC Metropolitan Skeptics Message Board › Meetup details updated: The Midwest Skeptics Society Saturday, December 6, 7
|Kansas City S.||
Overland Park, KS
I've updated this Meetup. For more details, see the full listing:
When: December 6, 2008 7:00 PM
Where: Black Dog Coffee House
12815 W 87th St
Lenexa, KS 66215
RSVP limit: 30 "Yes" and "Maybe" RSVPs
If the changes affect your plans to attend, please take a moment to update your RSVP. (You can RSVP "No" or "Maybe" as well as "Yes".)
You can always get in touch with me through the "Contact Organizer" link on Meetup: http://skeptics.meetu...
We'll be watching "Mayan Doomsday? - 2012 the End of the Wold?" a "History Channel" documentary.
As previous "Science Movie Night" joint Meetup events indicated, it is more fun to watch the science movie and stop it if someone has a comment or question and then resume it. It really makes the movie more interactive and brings a personal perspective into it.
Do you have suggestions for future topics for the Skeptics meeting? E-mail to email@example.com.

Also, don't forget, Dec 17th, a few of us are carpooling to Topeka to see Michael Shermer via Internet video uplink. He will be presenting his talk in Topeka at Atheist Community of Topeka.
We'll be able to talk to Dr. Shermer via the internet to ask questions and give feedback about his book - "Why People Believe Weird Things: Pseudoscience, Superstition, and Other Confusions of Our Time"
Dr. Michael Shermer is the Founding Publisher of Skeptic magazine, the Executive Director of the Skeptics Society, a monthly columnist for Scientific American, the host of the Skeptics Distinguished Science Lecture Series at Caltech, and Adjunct Professor of Economics at Claremont Graduate University. In addition, Dr. Shermer has written multiple books including his newest book, The Mind of the Market: Compassionate Apes, Competitive Humans, and Other Tales from Evolutionary Economics.
