The ‘Sketching Swine’ meet up group is for anyone with an interest in art or biology. We meet up every 2nd Saturday, from 11am – 1pm in different locations around London to draw animals; from the taxidermy creations of the natural history museum to the banty hens at Hackney City Farm to the syphilitic human skulls at the Hunterian Museum.

This group is perfect for people of all ages and from all different backgrounds, a willingness to draw is the only essential ingredient. You will get practical guidance with your sketches - if you want it as well as some biological facts  relating to the subject of the day.
At the end of each meetup your drawings will be photographed and uploaded to the blog.

I started this meetup to encourage myself and others to draw animals from observation and to inform and inspire my own art practice.
You will need to bring along a sketchbook but all other art materials will be provided. This meetup is just £5 which you can pay in advance through paypal or just pay on the day. Limited spaces are available, so join early!

I'm surprised by the level of growth I've seen since becoming an organizer, it's given me more confidence in my abilities.
