John M. leads us - he says this:
The weather looks great for Saturday come out and enjoy a bike ride.
We are changing the path for the Saturday June 15 Ride. We will still meet at Tinicum Park 963 River Rd, Upper Black Eddy, PA at 9AM. We will head north to the Frenchtown Bridge, cross over to New Jersey. From Frenchtown we will travel south to Bulls Head Park and then return to Frenchtown by the same route. You can choose to take the multiuse path by the river which is good for both hybrid or road bikes or you can ride the shoulder of River Drive (New Jersey side). River Drive offers some mild hills and provides a wide shoulder the entire length of our ride. Due to the weather there are some branches and puddles to avoid on both the
multi-use path and River Drive. The ride is still approximately 20 miles of flats. The group will then decide where to adjourn for lunch.
The Pennsylvania path is impassable to bikes of all types for
three-quarters of a mile about 7 miles south of the start point. The walk through the area is difficult. The Pennsylvania River Drive (RT 32) does not provide a wide shoulder and the road is bad in spots.
This ride is good for road bikes / hybrids
