Beaver Lake walk

Meet at 11:00 near the washrooms at the farthest big parking lot and we will start walking at 11:15 sharp. I am making this a little later as it is much colder in the morning at this time of year. You go through the small parking lots, then a paved parking lot that has lots of speed bumps, through a narrow lane to the gravel parking lot on the right.

It was a good walk. Rebel didn't like the horses. We had fin+ exercise + the company was great!! Thx again Shelly.

I was cornered in a path by someone behind me and the horse struggling to come onto the path and was inches away from me so it was very scary!

we had horses galloping at us. Sam had just seen 3 slow walking horses, horses for the first time, he wasn't on his leash so I was worried out of fear he'd run in front of them, cause them to rearup, etc, bad scene, so I stood in the path with my back to the horses and put Sam's leash on. The girls slowed down and it was okay. Scary though.

Hello, everyone! Well! that was an adventure. Unfortunately I forgot my phone and so couldn't check my email so didn't see your responses. On top of that, I usually walk awhile and then turn back but thought what the hey, let's just do this thing, so we walked around the whole thing. Did you, too? I don't know the area at all, but I'd swear I saw some of the same people coming towards me that had already come towards me, meaning I'm sure we did some loops that extended the walk.
I also saw how many parking lots there are around that whole big lake — jeez. I only ever go to the one off Sayward, so I'll play closer attention and sort it out earlier next time. Sounds like you had a good walk — so did we!

Hey Angela, that's Elk Lake you're thinking of. Beaver Lake is the first lake as you're heading out towards the airport and ferry. So its BEAVER LAKE PARK you're looking for. It is accessible from Elk Lake Drive, as Robyn says, you go on that paved road into the park and keep going through the main beach parking lot to the far parking lot that is gravel. See you there.

is that the lot off the hiway, behind the gas station, garden place, etc? back behind the children's playground near the beginning of the path? If you don't get this in time, no biggie, hopefully I can track you down.

This is the unpaved parking lot that is closer to West Saanich Road, enter at the nain entrance and then drive through the paved parking lot and follow the road to the large unpaved lot.

The walk will be on if it is raining. However, if I feel it is pouring out too much, I will post a cancellation at 10:00. Please pay attention to the directions so you are in the right parking lot. I plan on going for coffee/lunch afterwards if anyone is interested. We can discuss it after the walk.

The walk is still on. It is just a little bit of drizzle my way. We won't melt and we wash up good! lol. If you aren't coming because of the rain, please post that so we don't wait for you if we want to get going sooner than 11:15. Thanks.
