The summer is almost over and I believe it is time for us to have a little fun! Would you like to better understand money and finances in a relaxed fun environment? Do you know what strategies you utilize when it comes to spending and investing your money? This is the event for you! Learning doesn't just happen in a classroom or from a book. We'll inject some real fun into learning about money and investing by playing a game called "CashFlow".
This Game has been described as Monopoly on crack! Here is Wikipedia's description: Cashflow 101 is an educational tool in board game format designed by Robert Kiyosaki (author of Rich Dad, Poor Dad), which aims to teach the players concepts of investing by having their money work for them in a risk free setting (play money) while simultaneously increasing their financial literacy and stressing the imperative nature of accountability. The board game is based in a financial and economic simulation environment.
There are two stages to the game. In the first, "the rat race", the player aims to raise his or her character's passive income level to where it exceeds the character's expenses. The winner is determined in the second stage, "the fast track". To win, a player must get his or her character to buy their "dream" or accumulate an additional $50,000 in monthly cash flow. What I love about the game is that there is no competition. The game is set up so that you can learn from other player's financial strategies and you can help other players because you're not opponents. You can focus on your financial well being without competing against others who have different financial circumstances and experience levels.
The game is very realistic and offers a good basis for amassing wealth and getting out of the "rat race" no matter what your income level is. Come on out, enjoy some light refreshments and let's have some fun!
