As the weather gets cold, it's always nice to know there's a warm place to smoke out there. Our next meet is at the classy Carnegie Club located near the Columbus Circle area. This is a fantastic venue in which we have used many times. A very throwback era decor as you enter the doors with a real relaxing feel to it. There is food available here but you can stop anywhere in the neighborhood before you get here. A full service bar and plenty of waitress seating including a secluded mezzanine. So bring a date or a guest if you like. A good selection of cigars but very pricey. I suggest to bring your own and take the $10 cutting fee. They waived the fee for our group last month, so I will tried to get them to drop it for this evening. Gentlemen, this is an upscale place and you must look presentable or they may not let you enter. Please wear collar shirts, no sneakers and I wood refrain from wearing jeans. Remember, I don't make the rules they do. This will be our last meetup before we take our annual hiatus. We will be taking off 5 weeks and our following meetup will be Thurs Feb 28. When we return we will be regrouping with many new members and I am expecting a crowd of over 30, so keep that date available. From there on we will be hitting a whirlwind of different venues and many new ones. So keep checking the sites as 2013 is going to be a great year.
***NOTE*** As many of you members know, my son in law, Rob who has been to several cigar meets was injured very seriously on New Years Day. He received 2nd & 3rd degree burns on the side of his left face, ear, shoulder, scalp and needs several surgeries of graphing. On our last meet, I handed out a get well card and it was signed by all those who attended, they also made a collection for him. I also received many donations by my loyal members thru paypal and checks who weren't presence and added their names to the card. That card hangs by him near his hospital bed as a reminder that people can unite and be there for you at your most vulnerable moments. On behalf of myself, my wife Arlene, my daughter, Joy, my son in law, Rob and their 6 month old daughter Charlotte Ann, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the donations and the prayers. If anyone out there would still like like to make a donation to Rob and his family, you can contact me by email.
