A Day with Jeff Foster

Embracing it ALL: A LOVING Way Through Pain, Depression and Addiction

Join us Saturday, April 13, from 11am-5pm for a day with Jeff Foster at beautiful Sunset Park Church, in Santa Monica, CA (free parking in church lot).

From Jeff: "How can we stay grounded in presence and deep acceptance, even in the midst of intense physical and emotional pain, addiction and relationship conflict, and profound uncertainty?

How can we stay radically open to life, even when we feel like closing off? How can we say YES, even when we feel a 'no'?

How can we surrender to awakening, even when we feel broken, messy and far away from our goals?

How can we deeply trust the vast intelligence that runs our lives?"

"Jeff, with his whole being, slowly and deliberately shoves a crowbar in your heart and pries it open and you can’t shut it again.” – S.H.

“Jeff Foster has a unique way of expressing the inexpressible, answering the unanswerable and understanding what can’t be understood.” – M.L.

“Jeff answered questions that I did not know how to ask… my mind had hidden them deeply." - K.

"Jeff shows us how to meet everything and to turn toward instead of away from Life... He has no lineage, so he has no spiritual guru baggage to carry around. His meetings are just raw, naked, unconditional love..." - R.P.

"What I most appreciate about Jeff is his willingness to be fully exposed, and to take spirituality out of the ashrams and meditation halls and into the streets…”

-Matt Licata, Sounds True

How do we stop running away from “the mess of life”—our pain, our predicaments, our frustrations, our failures, even our longing for freedom and enlightenment—and start flowing with all of it?

Is it possible to find an effortless “yes” to this moment,

no matter how challenging our lives become?

Is it possible to stop seeking love, peace and enlightenment

in the future, and discover them where you already are?

Jeff Foster invites us to take a fresh look at our present experience and discover the ocean of who we really are: a non-dual awareness that has already allowed every wave of thought and emotion to arrive. “Just as the ocean ‘accepts’ every wave,” teaches Jeff, “so too has our awareness already allowed and accepted what is here.” Jeff talks of deep acceptance not as a passive surrender, but as an intelligent and creative emerging into life just as it is. And it is not something that happens “one day”, or only happens to special people – it is always happening, if we have eyes to see it.

Recognizing ourselves as the ocean of deep acceptance radically transforms and simplifies the way we see the world - our relationships, how we communicate, our attitude towards physical pain and depression, how we deal with addictions, and our search for spiritual enlightenment. Candid, thoughtful, humorous—and deeply compassionate toward those searching for a way out of suffering—Jeff inspires us to stop trying to “do” acceptance…and start falling in love with “what has already been allowed.” His simple, accessible and direct teachings point us back to who we really are in this moment – already perfect, whole, and free.

Silence, laughter, lightness, and a sense of real intimacy, honesty and friendship are the hallmarks of encounters with Jeff. His meetings are very spontaneous and informal, and there are plenty of opportunities to share and ask questions, if you are so moved. And of course, if you just want to sit in silence and listen, without sharing, then that’s fine too.

"With unshakable patience and softness, Jeff approaches all questions with a completely un-rushed and peaceful style, always searching to find the most skillful words that can capture his thought and best be conveyed. In truth, Jeff’s teachings are alive..." - W.R.

“Jeff’s message is a relief for seekers who are tired of chasing dreams, and a true calling to re-examine what’s present in our lives and find out if we don’t already have exactly what we are looking for." - P.L.

"Instead of seeing some things or people as being more special than others, or seeing himself as a teacher somehow above the pains and pleasures of life, he addresses the humanity in all of us…” – Non-Duality Press

Jeff was voted #51 on Watkins Review’s 2012 list of the world’s 100 Most Spiritually Influential Living People and has published four books in over six languages. His latest book The Deepest Acceptance was published in 2012 by Sounds True.

Jeff speaks clearly and simply about the journey of awakening and self-realization. He presently holds meetings, retreats and private one-to-one sessions around the world, gently but directly pointing people back to the deep acceptance inherent in the present moment.

He points to a discovery of who you really are, beyond all thoughts and judgments about yourself, even in the midst of the stress and struggle of modern day living and intimate relationships. His teaching style is direct and uncompromising and yet full of humanity, humor and compassion. He believes that freedom is everybody’s birthright. He belongs to no tradition or lineage, and makes his teaching accessible to all.

Hi Michael., Please kep me informed to future sessions with Jeff and others. I do appreciatiate your (Jeff's) analogy of knowing our thoughts, etc. are our children. Such compassion for ourselves which I think is so necessary for our inner peace and for growth. Here's a quote (I think it is CarlRogers but it could be Tara Brach from her book Radical Acceptance.) IIt is: "It is a curious paradox ,that if we accept ourselves just as we are , we can change." We don't need to beat ourselves up to change, grow , etc., for whatever is needed for our spiritual evolution will happen naturally, when we do accept opurselves and are aware.

For those that were not able to attend Jeff Foster's wonderful day long meetup yesterday in Santa Monica, I can tell you that the heart of his message is that ALL your thoughts, feelings and sensations are in way your children, and to the extent you reject any of your children, it is painful. The solution? BE with ALL your children, deeply, intimately, lovingly. If they come knocking on your door, they are already here, so rejecting them is NOT the solution. Nor is hating them or wishing they weren't here. You are the vast ocean.... ALL waves are embraced by the ocean because they are part of the ocean... indeed, they ARE the ocean. <3

So encouraging to spend the day with a group of brave souls all fully invested into waking up and embracing all that arises in this present moment.
May any goodness that arose from this daylong be shared with all beings, everywhere.

About 6 momths ago, my beloved cat Kabuki leftt his plane of existence.I callled her the elf cat . A year (maybe less) before I lost the cat of cats . I always said she was not a cat , but a Goddess infur: so intutive, so healing, looking me right in the eyes .. Finally, in Dec., I feltit wa time to bringback hat love in my home and adopted 2 cats from the Lange Foundation, sisters, never sepaarated, 2 years old. When Igot them home, I knew they were miracle cats:so loving, not a single aggressive behavior, . Everyone fell in love with Michele our hearts away. My students would say, "I can't wait to see Michele. In Feb. she was diagnosed with FIP, fopr which there is no cure. I burst into tears when the vet said she did not have long on this earth. Her body isf filled with fluid; . I know now ist he time. I dont want her to suffer. , Such deep love. Such a sot time. Eckhart Tollehas said, "I have lived with sever alenlightened beings n my life ,
    all of them cats,"

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
