Come join us for our weekly Mindfulness Meditation class! Based on traditional forms of Buddhist Vipassana/Insight meditation practice, this class is designed to relax, center and balance the body and mind, by bringing direct awareness and deep insight into the fundamental truths of change and impermanence that characterizes all of reality at every level.
Learn to focus your attention on the breath, and experience the subtle sensations in and on the body. Master the observation of the endless stream of thoughts and emotions from a more dis-engaged perspective, and find deep inner peace and stillness, by letting go of the mind's continuous chatter.
Many of us often go on unintentional 'roller-coaster-rides' of cravings, desires, and clinging on the one hand, and aversions, hatred, and resistance on the other; a never-ending cycle of grasping for experiences we 'like' and want, and rejecting those we 'dislike' and don't want. In this Mindfulness meditation class we learn how to experience reality more directly, without the need to always react emotionally to positive or negative experiences, without the endless swing between happiness and unhappiness, that can be so exhausting and a huge a drain on our energy. Instead we balance our awareness and our mind, which allows us to rest in a peaceful calmness deep within ourselves.
So come sit with us and get a new perspective on life!
Beginner's to meditation are welcome! All meditation classes are guided, so no previous experience is required.
