If you are in this group, you identify as "radical" in some way and enjoy doing things without getting wasted.

Sober:

You enjoy having fun without having to get wasted or high. If you enjoy getting drunk and such that's fine, you can still be in the group. Just be aware that no activities we partake in will include drugs or alcohol.

Radical:

I loosely define this as leaning to the left politically. Basically: you're open-minded, you believe in human rights and equality for all, and you try to be respectful of everyone. Whether you're a queer-identified anarchist feminist activist or just a straight white guy who voted for Obama and thinks gay marriage is totally awesome, you have a place here.

RULES

Besides “respect your fellow members,” my only real rule is this: no flakes. If you RSVP to say you are attending a Meetup and then are a no-show, you will be removed from the group. I always email attendees my phone number before an event in case they either cannot find us or need to cancel last minute, so there is absolutely no excuse for RSVP-ing "Yes" and then just not showing up without explanation. Flaking is totally jerkish and disrespectful of other people's time. And you're not a disrespectful jerk, right? So don't do it.

I will also add this: please do not bring children to events.

Types of activities you can expect from this group:

Art walks, art days (making collages/knitting/whatever creative venture you like), karaoke, disc golf, paintball, potlucks, barbecues, roller derbies, concerts, hiking, camping, board games, book discussions, etc. etc. Anything and everything. If you have a suggestion for a Meetup, send it my way and I'll see what I can do!
