Tribal Drumming

What does it involve?  Well we sit around in a circle with various African drums (provided by the teacher, Tom) and Tom shows us a number of different tribal drumming beats. After we get the hang of the new beats we are split up into groups each playing one of the different beats. Once we are all in harmony, the lights go out and we drum for another 30 or 40 minutes getting totally lost in the rhythm. Its only the craic!  Sometimes if there a few of us, we go around the corner to wind down over a cuppa tea/coffee. Its a great way to spend a Friday night and gets your mind off the week and sets you nicely up for the weekend.

As it organised by a separate company, Tom charges 10euro if you are not working, otherwise its 12euro. If you cant afford this, come along anyway as Tom is happy to do concessions if you help with the setting up, packing away of the drums.

I used to be terrible in school at this sort of thing, but maybe I'm in luck and it'll be easier now :)
