We will meet at The Red Cow LUAS stop and get the bus to Newbridge.
The bus costs €10 return.

I plan on getting the 10:50 coach. There doesn't seem to be an option to buy tickets in advance. So we will buy from the driver

If it is more convenient for you, you can take the Bus Eireann bus and meet us in Newbridge.

Take the 10:45 bus. A day return is circa €13. You can buy your Bus Eireann tickets online or on the day. The 126 stops at a number of locations in Dublin so check the timetable to see where its convenient to pick it up.

In Newbridge we will visit the Whitewater market which is at the Whitewater Shopping Centre. I've checked the forecast and there will be showers but hopefully the weather will be reasonable. There was a fire recently at Pollardstown Fen and it is a bit out of town..so I'm dropping that from the itinerary.

We will walk around town and along by the Liffey. We will visit the Riverbank Arts Centre where there is an exhibition called 'pieces of the garden'

 http://riverbank.ie/visual-arts/giota%C3%AD-%C3%B3n-ngaird%C3%ADn-pieces-of-the-garden

I don't think there is a charge for the exhibition. We can have coffee in the café too.

Next we will visit the museum of style icons at the Newbridge silverware shop

If we find that we are finished very early we do have the option of getting the bus to Kildare town. The Dublin Coach takes 10 minutes to get there and passes through Newbridge every hour.

I think we will have enough to do in Newbridge itself though but we can decide on the day

    HI Elaine,
i was just wondering why you are not taking bus eireann No.126 direct line Dublin - Newbridge from Connelly station or City centre on the quay? I used to use this line before.
    Cheers!

Hi Suzy, the Dublin Coach seemed to be more frequent but aside from that no real reason to favour one over the other. If that bus is easier for people they can take that service and we'll meet in Newbridge

Hi everyone, I'm really sorry but I may need to defer this to the 23rd March.I've been taking a course at the weekends and they have set the 9th March as the day for me to submit my portfolio of work. My tutor needs to physically sign off on the work and I need to do a short test. This is happening at 1pm on the 9th March. So it would be a bit late for me to go to Newbridge after that. Is everyone ok with the 23rd?

    February 5, 2013

    • Carmel

no problem Elaine. Unfortunately I can't make the 23rd, but hopefully will see it another time, will take my name off the list...good luck on the 9th.
