Marlay Park - Parkrun - Weekly Free 5km Timed Run

Parkrun is a free weekly 5k Timed Run organized by volunteers.  It is a very friendly event with people of all abilities so whether you do 5k in 20 minutes or 40 minutes, it doesn't matter!  All that matters is you give it a go!

The run starts at 9:30, so we will meet at 9:15. The run starts behind Marlay house near the Grange Road Car Park.  After the run we'll meet and grab a cup of coffee if anyone wants to hangout.  The Saturday market also offers a lot in the way of food and treats.

Meeting Place:  The meeting location will be near the Grange Road Car Park where all of the paths converge as you enter the park.  However, Parkrun has asked all runners to park in the College Road Car Park and walk down to the start line.

If you haven't met me before, I'm 5'5" and usually wearing a blue tech T-Shirt and black cap (on runs...not generally :-). See the tagged photo of me from the last parkrun for the visual.

If you miss me at the start, I'll be outside the coffee shop entrance after the run for a little while.

In order to get a time for the run you must register with Parkrun at http://www.parkrun.ie/marlay (if you've already registered for any other parkruns such as Malahide you're all set...you only need to register once). After you register, you will print out a unique barcode and bring it with you. This is so your time can be tracked at the end of the run.

If you forget to register or bring the barcode, no worries, you can still run. You just won't get an official time on the Parkrun website.

The route for the Parkrun can be found here:

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
