The Angular UI Router by Chris Hubert

Learn how The Angular UI Router service (https://github.com/angular-ui/ui-router) can help you build complex, deeply nested UI's by using 'state' rather than 'route'.

The JavaScript Event Loop: Concurrency in the Language of the Web by Erin Swenson-Healey

With JavaScript approaching near-ubiquity as the scripting language of the web browser (and gaining traction on the server too), it benefits you to have a basic understanding of its event-driven interaction model and how it differs from the request-response model typically found in languages like Ruby, Python, and Java. In this post, I’ll explain some core concepts of the JavaScript concurrency model, including its event loop and message queue in hopes of improving your understanding of a language you’re probably already writing but perhaps don’t fully understand.

We need presentations for this meetup! Please contact the organizer if you're interested in presenting.

OK, I wasn't able to meet the gentleman with the beard who asked me the question about UI Router that I couldn't answer - if you get this message, can you re-ask the question and I will get you an answer.

Here's the files I used during the demo: https://github.com/rivvid/angular-ui-router-meetup-demo-files

If anyone has any questions feel free to add them here or hit me up on linkedin: http://www.linkedin.com/in/christopherhubert

Awesome thanks Erin - gonna review the presentation again, there were definitely some nice nuggets of knowledge in there I'd like to re-cap.

Hey all, thank you for coming out. We’re looking forward to hosting more of these.

I didn’t get a chance to mention it last night but we are currently looking for some more js enthusiasts to problem solve with Brendan and Patrick moving forward. Contract or long-term. If you have the bandwidth or know someone who does don’t hesitate to reach out.

Thanks again to Rit for organizing and to Erin and Chris for taking up the pulpit.

On google maps street view, the venue looks like a house. Is that right? Any tips on the parking situation on Zeno Pl. or adjacent streets? Is it easy to park there or is it better to park on Venice?

The neighborhood streets tend to be pretty full, but you can find street parking here and there.

      November 7, 2013

    • Matt M.

There are businesses scattered around that neighborhood, so parking usually frees up between 6:30-7:30. There's no permit limitations either.

Hey Carol, street view is way out of date so don't let it mislead you. The venue is house-like but it isn't the one that street view indicates. As for parking, depending on what time you arrive street parking should not be too difficult. The best strategy is to just cruise around zeno and the adjacent streets.

Angular UI is awesome, I help other aspects of Angular UI. Is there a location for the next meetup?

I am guessing the October meetup (today) was cancelled? Bummer :(

      Yep I can do that

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
